I am Jiri Verstraaten, born and raised in the Netherlands. As a kid, my first profound question to my father was ‘do real wizards exist?’ His answer was that in the deep forests of Africa indeed real wizards have been seen.

I chose various paths and detours (food marketeer, new product developer, founder of an incense company). A few years ago I developed the Wizardbox, an interactive tool for kids with which they discover that everybody can be a wizard. Finally I came to the conclusion that magic, in the broadest sense of the word, is my real passion and destination.

 

In contrast to other magicians, I don’t perform often for audiences. Creating magic illusions for others is what drives me. My creative background in various fields helps me with this.
